  • Does Physicians Formula test on animals?
    Physicians Formula Inc. does not conduct tests, or commission any outside facility to conduct tests that involve the use of animals. The safety of our products is determined using such alternate methods as "in-vitro" testing, human clinical evaluations and human use-trials under the supervision of a Board Certified Dermatologist.

    Yes. Physicians Formula products are formulated for sensitive skin and do not contain PABA, nor over 100 known skin irritants. Our skin products may benefit you because they all offer the claims below:

    We first suggest returning the product to the store or website where you purchased the products. If the store will not accept your return or if the product was purchased directly from us, you can return your product back to us and we will gladly exchange or refund (minus shipping & tax) the product within 30 days of purchase.     If you are dissatisfied with the product we first recommend returning the product to the store where you purchased it, otherwise, we will gladly exchange the product for one of equal value or issue a refund (with receipt).   • What is the shelf life/expiration date of a product?
    Most products have a two+ year shelf life. For more information on expiration dates, it’s best to have the product on hand and contact our Consumer Relations department at 800-227-0333.
  • Can I return a product that I purchased at a discount store?
    We do not accept returns on products purchased at discount stores (i.e., Dollar Tree, Ross, Big Lots). It is best to keep your receipt and return it back to the store.

  • Are your products vegan?
    We do not claim vegan as some of our products may contain ingredients like beeswax, carmine and lactic acid (from milk). We recommend checking the ingredient listing of each product prior to purchase.
  • Are your products gluten free?
    Yes, all of our products are gluten free.
  • Why is SPF not claimed on products sold outside the U.S.?
    The products we sell outside the U.S. have exactly the same formulas as those sold in the U.S. but the SPF claims are removed due to particular import requirements.
