To create a smoky look:

Sweep medium shade above the lash line and blend up to the crease.
Apply darkest shade into crease and extend to outer corner of your eye. Line your eye by smudging the darkest shade into upper and lower lash lines. To intensify color, wet the applicator.
Use lightest shade to highlight brow bone and inner eye corner.
